NVIDIA has released alternate graphics drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices. If it does, click “Allow” in order for the NVIDIA Graphics Driver to load, then return to the Installer and click “Restart”. Hi to all.need help i have installed high sierra 10.13.6 17G2208 i need nvidia driver for my system. Mac OS X Support. I have installed high sierra 10.13.6. Oct 16, 2017 Installing Nvidia Web Drivers on High Sierra can be a nightmare for those using Nvidia graphics cards by being greeted by a black screen on boot or automatic restarting. This guide will show you the steps I go through everytime I do a fresh install of macOS High Sierra with an Nvidia Graphics Card. The black screen problem is an issue that first appeared on High Sierra build (17A405) and is.
I have followed the instructions here https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-mac-os-x/index.html to install CUDA on a MacBookPro.
I am also able to build the examples. When running the examples, CUDA is not able to find a GPU, but reports “cudaGetDeviceCount returned 100” instead.
Where should I look to trouble shoot this issue?
My setup is:
MacBookPro Mid 2012 Retina
OSX High Sierra, 10.13.6
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
CUDA Driver Version: 418.163
CUDA 10.1.105 Toolkit
- Installation as per this page: https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-mac-os-x/index.html
- An OSX related (apparently) tweak as described here, post #3 onwards: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1048339/cuda-setup-and-installation/cuda-driver-410-130-error-quot-update-required-quot-mac-os-10-11-6-/
- System Preferences -> Energy Saver -> Automatic graphics switching: unchecked
- kernel extension reports started:
I appreciate any ideas, insight or help in finding steps forward,

How To Get Macos High Sierra 10.13.6
The cuda drivers are also really functionnal.
I made a test with Blackmagic’s rawtest… with and without. there is a little difference in favor of the Cuda (4 or 5 more green checked passed).
Also I can notice the difference in Davinci with the cuda GPU activated…

so Nvidia’s webdrivers are still efficient even for these 5 year old laptops.
(honestly 5 years isn’t old for a laptop. Apple could give a little care for us, long term customers)
